Deep under Foundation, where the sunlight can't hit your skin and the common folk manage humble lives, a hole in the wall tavern has reopened its doors for the people of the Brume. The scent of ink and steam's heat tickles your senses until you find yourself at our doors. Welcome to the Dragon Tear.
About Us

By Maru ↑
Need to get a hold of us? Feel free to contact ElezenRoyalty on Discord for assistance.
We are a LGBTQ+ and 21+ Brume establishment without mature services. We allow sensual, sexual, and darker themes, but no explicit NSFW, erotic, or severe gore RP. We noticed that while high society in Ishgard is wildly celebrated and pursued, the lives of the common folk often go unspoken of or underrepresented—thus so, the Dragon Tear was reborn. We celebrate the arts of our fellows and invite music lovers to join us in letting loose on stage now and again. If that's too much after a long day's work, we'll pour you a cup and hear out your troubles.Disclaimer: We hold the right to refuse service to anyone demonstrating toxic behaviour with their fellow players, excessive attempts to metagame, stalking, or unnecessary levels of vitriol. We will never tolerate bigotry, homophobia, or transphobia. If you've come to spew any sort of OOC hate, please turn around and leave. This is not the place for it.While we hope to be a safe space where everyone can have fun, please understand that our establishment is not one for venting personal grief, trauma, or frustration. Such topics and themes are more than welcome IC—we are a bar after all, and one of the Brume at that!—but OOC matters of this nature should be left at the door and instead taken to trained professionals IRL.Resources like 988 are available to obtain quick assistance with mental health crises. You are loved, please take care!
Rules
IC Rules:
No physical violence with fellow patrons inside the Tear. If you want to rip and tear, go outside.
Don't brandish your weapon. Your weapons are welcome to join you inside on your person or tabletop. Why not try out our dart board? Free to use!
All tabs will be sorted within 3 months. If you can't pay, we won't hound you too much, but a few visits over this limit, we'll ask you work for a bit to call it good.
No means no. If your attempt to socialise or flirt is met with disdain and you don't drop it, we'll drop you outside.
We are not a brothel. While some of our staff and patrons may partake in such indulgences, and conversation may occasionally speak of such things, these services will never be for sale at the Dragon Tear.
OOC Rules:
Be good to each other. Remember there's another person behind the character you're role playing with.
Communication is key. Especially if scenes get heated, but always! If you want to engage in something, shoot the player a tell! They'll be glad you did.
Do not engage in erotic RP at our establishment. Not even in tells. We support your endeavours, but we do not wish to see a wayward message of this type by any chance. Please go elsewhere for that. PDA is fine though!
Let us know before you walk in bleeding. We ask this as a courtesy in case anyone is uncomfortable with such a scene. Folks can always go out to help you instead.
Try to avoid MSQ spoilers in your RP. Not everyone is at the same place! We consider end of Shadowbringers to usually be fair game, but asking is encouraged.
We appreciate your cooperation and hope to see you soon!

Dragon Tear Bar Guide
For all your drink making guidance needs!
Beer (on-tap) - Fill a tankard at a 45° angle until ¾ᵗʰ filled, then quickly tilt back to upright so the foam top will set correctly. Should be more aromatic if done correctly. → c▮
Red Wine - Red wine should only be slightly cooled unless specifically asked for iced (bottle placed in ice bucket). Our bottles are kept on the lowest level to stay cool. We've already decanted (filtered impurities through cheese cloth) and recorked the few bottles set at the bottom in preparation for open night. Serve in a small cup. → c□
Mulled Wine (made in house) - Kegged after being brewed with spices on a low heat, you can just pour this from the keg into a tall mug. Ask the customer if they would like it heated up (on the stove) or not. (Do -NOT- let it rolling boil or the alcohol will cook out...) → c▯ or c□
Duaka Daquiri - To make an ice slushie for the drink, scoop ice from the ice box into the ice crusher, crank the wheel, and out comes crushed ice. Crush again for a finer slush. In a metal cocktail shaker, add 2 oz light rum, ¼ - ¾ oz simple syrup. Crush seasonal fruit in a cheese cloth in another cup with a wooden dowel, remove the solids, and pour the juice into the shaker before shaking it all together. Add crushed ice to small cup, pour mixture over ice. Sprinkle a generous layer of edible glitter from the cupboard over the top. Announce, "for the life of the party" when delivering. → c□
Rum Sour - A simple drink, find yourself a big chunk or two of ice from the ice box and place that in your small cup. In a mixing cup add 2 oz dark rum and 1 oz of lemon or lime juice, then stir with a tall spoon. Pour gently over ice. → c□
Mint Mojito - Normally fresh mint is crushed. Since we don't have that, in a tall mug, add mint to a small sachet pouch and drown it in 2 oz of light rum and use the dowel to crush the leaves up. The particles shouldn't escape, and the rum should become infused after a few minutes to sit. Add ½ oz simple syrup, 1 oz lemon or lime juice, then fill the cup with fizzy water until 80% full. Stir gently with tall metal spoon, holding the sachet. Carefully remove mint sachet. → c▯
Dragon's Resort - Add to a cocktail shaker ½ oz vodka, ½ oz gin, ½ oz tequila, ½ oz white rum, ½ oz triple sec (orange), ½ oz simple syrup, 1 spoonful (Tblsp) of molasses, and 1 oz of lemon or lime juice. Shake heavily until molasses is fully incorporated. Add ice to a tall mug and pour over. Add fizzy water until 80% full. Stir gently with a tall metal spoon. → c▯
A Friendly Knock Out - Offer the customer the list of seasonal fruit for them to select. Once they've picked fruit, we will smash this in a cheese cloth at the bottom of the tall mug with a dowel, then remove the solids. Like the mojito, add mint to a small sachet pouch. Crush the mint inside the sachet to let it infuse into the juice for a few minutes. Add ½ oz simple syrup, ½ oz lemon or lime juice, then fill the cup with fizzy water until 80% full. Stir gently with tall metal spoon, holding the sachet. Carefully remove mint sachet. → c▯
Bobbin' for Apples - At a ratio of ¾ᵗʰ apple cider to ¼ᵗʰ fizzy water, pour the two into a tall mug and mix with a tall metal spoon. Serve without ice (unless asked).
Bottom o' the Stream - After asking for fruit choice, add it to a cheese cloth and crush it in a tall mug with a wooden dowel first. Once solids are removed, set this aside. In a cocktail mixer, add 3 spoonfuls (Tblsp) of molasses, 2 spoonfuls of (Tblsp) cream, and 6 oz of fizzy water. Shake gently (with short breaks to open the container to release pressure) until fully incorporated and foaming heavily. In the tall cup with juice, add 8 oz of fizzy water and stir. Using a big spoon, gently pour foamy cocktail shaker mixture over it to layer the foamy mocktail on top. Doesn't have to be perfect—that's kind of the point. → c▯
Third Bell - Served in small or large mug (ask). 1-2 sachets worth of black tea (depending on size) scooped from the paper bag in the cabinet. Offer a wooden saucer of cream, a spoon, and the honey pot if desired. → c▯ or c□
Cuppa' - Served in small or large mug (ask). Use a sachet as a filter for the top of the coffee machine and fill it with 1-2 tablespoon's worth of ground coffee (depending on size). Fill the chosen cup 2/3 of the way with plain water and pour into the reservoir. Allow this to process into a small or large mug underneath. Offer a wooden saucer of cream, a spoon, and the honey pot if desired. →c▯ or c□
Our & Your Choice - Depends on what the client says. If they don't have a specific request (which if I don't already know, I'll simply look up), I ask what flavour profile(s) they want and go from there. We have lots to work with; sour, sweet, peppery, spicy, fruity, smokey, rich, light... Check the Drink Materials section for specific flavour profiles if you like, and feel free to ask for advice! The Internet is also full to bursting with ideas.

Vignesin — Manager
He could have said no, but after his last free company's dissolution, Vignesin was looking for the next best thing. When his colleague Natsume suggested he take up the mantle as manager of a tucked away bar, the connecting webs-to-be just seemed to shimmer in the low light.A cunning fellow aiming for useful connections.
Piña colada & its citrus imitations bring him the most joy.
The only place in Eorzea he hasn't been is La Noscea. He claims no homeland, but enjoys Ishgard.
Likes to build spider machina in his spare time. Maybe you'll spot one?
Not always so honest.

Bethany — Bartender
From a traveling family, Bethany wanders Eorzea with her caravan, soaking in sights and meeting as many people as possible. Though whenever her help is needed, she always comes running right back. A clever one with more wit than you might think.Where the devil can't go, he sends a woman.
Favours mezcal, a rare taste of home.
Hhetsarro from Tural. Carries a distinct Shaaloani accent.
Supposedly her horns are rare mutation within her former tribe.
Could probably take you in an arm wrestle. Go on, we dare you!
Natsume — Bookkeeper
As a favour to an old friend, Natsume had been asked to bring the Dragon Tear back to life after its destruction in the Dragonsong War. Since he prefers to enjoy the bar over working it, he manages the books and makes sure new inventory ventures don't fall through the cracks. His warm smile covers a skeptical heart.
Loves a rum sour or a frigid daquiri.
Dravanian born and raised.
Gets up to a lot more besides just crunching numbers.
Hunter by trade.
Surprisingly good at first aid. . .and always up to the task.

Frequently Asked Questions
"Is it Tear like 'teardrop' or Tear like 'rip and tear'?
Yes. Next question. (Technically teardrop, but we enjoy the double wordplay.)"Can we roleplay here when you aren't open?"
If it's not being used, of course you can! Though the rules still apply even if staff are not in the building. In addition, FC members should always take priority for use of the space! We ask you please keep us in mind—if we're online or hanging out in the building, reach out to one of us before you start roleplaying at the Tear."What's this about ink and steam nearby?"
That would be the Noble Pursuits printing press immediately next door to the Dragon Tear. This is room 3 in our FC, but we intend for it to be a canonical neighbour! Feel free to reference it or ask for more details while we're open. (WIP)"Are there any regulars we should know about?"
Yes! We have a list of NPCs that frequently can be found at the establishment. (WIP)

Name: Vignesin
Age: 38
Height: 6'4" or 194.1 cm
Gender: Male (He/Him)
Sexuality: Bisexual
Relationship Status: Promiscuous & Single, not interested in settling down
Element: Light-aspected
Homeland: [REDACTED]
Profession: Manager of the Dragon Tear.
Informant, ex-mafia. Hobbiest machinist.
Likes:
Dislikes: Classism & racism, hunger, damage to his 'belongings', self-loathing, pirates
Hand Dominance: Right
Scent: Cologne of Patchouli
Bonus: Almost always seen wearing dangly gold and pearl earrings.Personality: If you believe to know Vignesin, think again and be quite sure. Leaning into light manipulation of most situations, this elezen diligently watches for micro-reactions in order to adjust his demeanour and optimise encounters. Be it caring charity or cunning ruthlessness, all sides to this man are the tell-tale sign of a gambler of life. The few who claim to notice are quickly routed. An early life of hardship has cultivated his gluttony, and from it, the true value of coin was realised. Through this damnable thing, he would obtain the ephemeral pleasures of life. If it's a sliver of the dark, a sin, or taboo, he has surely tasted it. By now, Vignesin is quite certain of what he likes and makes sure he gets what he wants, no matter how long it takes to do so.To supply these pleasures of his, Vignesin is willing to do reconnaissance and information gathering to an aggressive degree if offered the right price. For this reason, his web-like connections are more valuable than anything else. In equal measure does he understand the value of high-quality service—if you have a skill he wants, expect to be paid well. His true values may be hard to discern, but his work at the Dragon Tear certainly feeds his desires in a rounded way. Having come from chronic hunger, the mission speaks to his pride as well as his hope for connecting the Brume's darkness—a reflection of his unwon and unsung past. Those seeking friendship with Vignesin will find their attempts won more easily by talk of machine and design—a topic of which reliably breaks his façade back down into true honestly. Magitek and airships have always held his fancy, and their applications equally as much.Associates and so-called friends of Vignesin will have their loyalty and hardwork rewarded—returned through the luxury of his diligent service and the sweetness of this world's pleasures, should they only say the word."All that is mine should flourish. You are no exception."In-Game Apartment: Coeurl · Empyreum · Ward 20 Subdivision · Apt 15
